A cookie is just a small text file a site leaves in your browser. Here's exactly which ones Shrink Pix sets or allows, what each does, and how to turn them off.

Strictly necessary

These keep basic site functions working and can't be turned off from within the site itself.

  • pixq_consent — remembers whether you accepted or declined the optional cookies, so the banner only asks once. Lasts 180 days. Set by us.
  • WordPress login and security cookies — only appear if you log in as an admin or post a comment.

Analytics

Where analytics is switched on, Google Analytics drops cookies like _ga and _ga_<ID> to tell one visitor session from another and measure overall page traffic, usually lasting about two years. IP addresses are anonymised. These tell us which pages get read — not who's reading them.

Advertising

Google AdSense and its partner networks may set cookies such as IDE, __gads, __gpi and test_cookie to deliver ads, avoid showing you the same one repeatedly, measure performance and catch fraud. With your consent, these can also personalise ads using your browsing on other sites too. Depending on the specific cookie, they last anywhere from a few minutes to roughly two years.

What the compressor itself never touches

The image tool sets no cookies of its own. Files stay in browser memory while they're processed and are never written to a cookie, to local storage, or to any server we control.

Your options

  • Reset your choice here — clearing cookies for this site brings the consent banner back so you can answer differently.
  • Personalised ads — switch them off at Google Ads Settings.
  • Industry-wide opt-outs — aboutads.info/choices and youronlinechoices.com.
  • Analytics specifically — the Google Analytics opt-out add-on blocks it at the browser level.
  • Your browser — Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge can all block or wipe cookies outright. Doing that will not stop the compressor from working — it never needed cookies in the first place.

When this changes

Ad partners update their cookies from time to time, so we check this page periodically and move the date above when something changes. For the broader picture of how data is handled here, see the Privacy Policy.
